Amman:
Amman is the capital and largest city of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. A city of about 2 million inhabitants (2008 estimate), it is the country's political, cultural and commercial center and one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. Amman is a unique blend of old and new, ideally situated on a hilly area between the desert and the fertile Jordan Valley.
There are numerous museums in Amman including the Royal Automobile Museum, the Jordan Archaeological Museum, Jordan Museum of Popular Tradition, the Jordan Folklore Museum, Souk jara, and the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts.
